Events Co-ordination, Digital Marketing

Why?

NECC was doing tremendous work since its inception but their efforts  were not well known, defined or coordinated to the public.

In 2014, NECC approached EKAR to assist them with their image, publicity and advocacy efforts. This included helping achieve better and effective internal and external communication.

EKAR has since conceptualized and continues to implement the National Epilepsy awareness and advocacy campaign now known as “Angaza Kifafa”. In the last five years, the campaign has reached over five (5) million and covered 15 counties.

How?

The strategic campaign partners with County Governments through the health ministry and trains the medics and community health volunteers in the counties. They are instrumental in carrying out the awareness campaign through the “Angaza Kifafa Bank of Africa Caravan”. The ultimate goal is to partner with and reach all forty-seven (47) counties.

EKAR is in-charge of the overall strategic partnerships between NECC, the county governments, non-governmental organisations, the corporates and the media (International, national and community media). Additionally, we also coordinate the events, develop the creative materials and manage the digital platform.

EKAR is also responsible for initiating the partnership between NECC and BOA and other sponsors like Red Cross, Sanofi, GSK, Bamburi cement, Torrent and Sun Pharma. Through this, the campaign has managed to reach millions of Kenyans. The campaign strives to achieve its main objectives; stigma reduction, accessible & affordable healthcare and the launch of its first National Epilepsy guidelines for doctors and medical professionals.
