ISK was incepted in 1969 and 2019 marked 50 years of its existence. The institution desired to have a memorable event to commemorate its milestones but needed to identify the right strategy to deploy several factors. One was, how best do they celebrate 50 years? (Proof of relevance and impact). Two was, how to market the event? (Use the celebration to the organization’s advantage in terms of building reputation, recognition and increasing its membership base). Third snd critical, was how do they get people to register for the event?

EKAR proposed a five phase celebration strategy highlighting ISK’s milestones in 5 decades. The five phases were labelled as (#simba70s #kifaru80s #ndovu90s #mbogomillenia2000s and #chui2010s). For the next three months to the ISK @ 50 Event, we organized activities, coverage and content around this strategy with the aim of showcasing the impact that ISK has had in streamlining the Survey Profession and improving land issues in Kenya.
For PR & Media Relations, we liaised with different media platforms to create engaging conversations around the #ISKat50 Celebrations. We projected ISK as the “voice of reason” in the NLC saga through OPEDs which were able to garner positive coverage on print, TV, and radio, and digital platforms.

EKAR used content marketing to bolden the milestones achieved by ISK, on all its digital platforms. This included; Twitter, Facebook, and Linked In. Thorough research, use of creative images and video, and digital campaigns we were able to capture a wide scope of engagement which translated to several members registering for the event and some even for membership.

We brought in various stakeholders on board who would be both relevant and critical in accentuating the importance of the event. This included invitation of popular and significant dignitaries in the industry, and partnership with organizations with interests in the Survey space.
We also developed branded materials that would be used during the event inclusive of the event program, year book, and event logo. All these activities were instrumental in gaining massive media coverage around the event while convincing members and dignitaries to attend.

The ISK @ 50 event was a tremendous success as showcased in our performance metrics which included; media coverage, number of attendees and post reviews. Happy client, is a happy EKAR.
